SCHWEGO® foam 6325

Defoamer for water-based coating systems, free of silicone


Chemical base:   Formulation of vegetable oils
Properties:   SCHWEGO foam 6325 is a liquid, very effective defoaming additive for all emulsion paints and particularly for those based on styrene/butadiene latex and acrylic copolymers. SCHWEGO foam 6325 is readily emulsifiable in water.
Applications:   SCHWEGO foam 6325 can be used in emulsion paints, water-based coatings, silicate paints, adhesives and plasters.

Processing:   SCHWEGO foam 6325 can be used as supplied or emulsified with 3-4 times the quantity of water. Depending on system it may be advantageous to add 2/3 of the defoamer quantity during the dispersion of the pigment and 1/3 to the emulsion, provided it is homogeneously distributed. The optimum dosage of SCHWEGO foam 6325 is 0.1 - 0.3 %, calculated on total system. The dosage may be increased up to 1.0 %. SCHWEGO foam 6325 is incorporated to the mill base. Thus, a good distribution is ensured and good defoaming is achieved when applied.
Storage:   Do not store SCHWEGO foam 6325 at temperatures below 5 °C and above 30° C. Stir it up before use. Keep it in a cool, well-ventilated place. At temperatures below 0 ºC the viscosity may rise. It is reversible by warming and stirring. There is no influence on product quality.
    Subject to appropriate storage, the described properties of SCHWEGO foam 6325 remain stable for at least 12 months, provided the original container is closed after use.
