MITTEL S
Defoamer for solvent borne coating systems, biodegradable |
Technical data sheet | Brochure "Defoamer" |
Chemical base: | Surface active polymers in a solvent mixture
Properties: | MITTEL S decreases the surface tension and thus defoams most solvent based systems effectively. It eliminates air bubbles during manufacture and application before surface defects appears. Already small quantities of MITTEL S prevent foaming and blistering during stoving enamels or varnishes.
FDA-approval: | The compounds of MITTEL S are listed in FDA (U.S. Food & Drug Administration), title 21, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). Details are visible in our Regulatory Information Sheet.
Applications: | MITTEL S is suitable for nearly all solvent based systems. MITTEL S is very efficient in alkyd (air drying), alkyd/polyester (heat stoving), chlorinated rubbers, epoxide, polyurethane, thermoplastic acrylic and reactive acrylics systems.
Technical data: (Guide values) |

|
Processing: | For oven stoving coating systems concentrations of 0.1 % MITTEL S are often enough to achieve the desired effects. MITTEL S has a low viscosity and can therefore be incorporated easily. It is recommended to add MITTEL S to the millbase in order to ensure best distribution. The dosage is 0.1 to 0.5 % on total formulation. The optimum amount depends on the coating system and must be determined by laboratory trials. Post addition is possible, if MITTEL S is homogeneously distributed.
Storage: | Stir MITTEL S up before use. Keep it in a cool, well ventilated place. Before MITTEL S is taken from the container, it is necessary to stir it up. Subject to appropriate storage, the described properties of MITTEL S remain stable for at least 3 years, provided the original container is closed after use. Occasionally, MITTEL S may contain traces of water which do not influence the product quality. |
